Shared Calendar Guidelines

1. Information Shared via Calendar

When a calendar is shared, the following information (hereinafter referred to as "Shared Calendar Information") becomes accessible to other participants:

  • Events registered on the calendar (including title, date and time, location, participants, and notes), comments, images, and other related data (hereinafter referred to as "Calendar Information")
  • Profile information set for that calendar (including profile image, name, and birthday) (hereinafter referred to as "Calendar Profile Information")

2. Actions Other Participants Can Take

Other participants may take actions through features provided by TimeTree, Inc. (hereinafter referred to as "Service Features," including those that may be offered in the future), based on their own permissions and intentions.

For example, the following actions may be taken:

  • Inviting other members to the calendar
    • Newly invited members will also have access to the Shared Calendar Information.
  • Allowing AI to refer to Shared Calendar Information to assist with personal activities
    • Participants may use AI to receive suggestions for actions based on their related schedules. In such cases, the AI may reference Shared Calendar Information, which could include data you have registered.
  • Accessing Shared Calendar Information via APIs or backups for use with third-party services
    • Shared Calendar Information may be further shared or used in external services.
    • Other participants who access, export or further process Shared Calendar Information outside the Service Features act as independent controllers within the meaning of Article 4(7) GDPR for such processing.

Participants who lose access rights (e.g., by leaving the calendar) will no longer be able to access the Shared Calendar Information through the Service Features.

3. Use of Shared Calendar Information by AI in Service Features

TimeTree, Inc., as the data controller, may process this information using AI-based features (such as reminders or future action suggestions including advertising) only with the user's explicit consent, in accordance with Article 6(1)(a) of the GDPR.

This processing may include automatic analysis of event details to provide personalized suggestions, but it will not result in legal or similarly significant effects on users. TimeTree, Inc. will not use this data for other purposes or disclose it to third parties.

4. Retention Period of Shared Calendar Information

  • Calendar Information will be retained and used as long as there are participants in the calendar.
  • If you leave the calendar or delete your TimeTree account, your Calendar Profile Information will no longer be accessible to other participants through Service Features.
    • Your Calendar Profile Information will also be removed from the Calendar Information.

5. Withdrawal of Consent

You may withdraw your consent to this guideline at any time through the following methods:

  • To withdraw consent for a specific calendar:
    • Delete your registered calendar data and leave the calendar
